NOTE: THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED! Due to the stormy weather across all of New Mexico, we are postponing as Maria Tellier, our wonderful guest, has to drive several hours through some hard-hit areas to reach Albuquerque. I will let everyone know when this event is rescheduled.
We are honored to welcome Maria Tellier, the New Mexico MUFON State Director, to present her insightful talk: “APRO: The Alamogordo Years (1954-1960).” This presentation will shed light on the often-overlooked yet deeply influential Aerial Phenomena Research Organization (APRO), which made its home in Alamogordo during this critical period of UFO research.
Founded by Jim and Coral Lorenzen, APRO was a pioneering force in the field of UFO investigation. Their passion for uncovering the truth about unexplained aerial phenomena led them to create a framework for credible and scientific research, setting a standard that many organizations still follow today. From 1954 to 1960, APRO became a powerhouse in UFO research, thanks in no small part to the dedication of its volunteers and the unwavering leadership of the Lorenzens.
During its time in Alamogordo, APRO produced the widely respected APRO Bulletin, which was a crucial platform for disseminating their research and findings. This publication drew from a dedicated local volunteer base, who played a key role in expanding APRO’s reach and impact on the global stage. It was during these formative years that APRO grew into one of the most respected and substantial UFO research organizations of its time.
Please join us along with Maria Tellier as she takes us on a journey back to the early days of APRO and the pivotal role Alamogordo played in shaping the landscape of UFO research as we know it today.
